Welcome to Groningen Mennonite Church! We are grateful for your online visit and invite you to feel free to have a look around. Groningen Mennonite Church is located in the heart of the vibrant and beautiful city of Groningen. You will find us at Oude Boteringestraat 33. As a church, we are committed to Jesus’ call to be a community that embodies God’s love in the world; a community that cherishes worship, hospitality, peacemaking and a respect for all.

The Groningen Mennonite Church is an exciting place to be. If you are looking for a place to worship where you can grow in faith with a supportive group of people, as well as a congregation that values outreach to all people, we are confident that you will feel at home here. You are invited to attend our worship services every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. A fellowship time with coffee and other drinks follows the worship service.

We have Faith

Terwijl in Zuid-Afrikaanse Durban onderhandelingen plaatsvinden voor het vervolg op het klimaat-protocol van Kyoto, hebben religieuze leiders uit de hele wereld opgeroepen tot ‘klimaatrechtvaardigheid’. Volgens voormalig aartsbisschop en Nobel-prijswinnaar Desmond Tutu staat het overleven van onze planeet zelf op het spel. Hij zei dat op een conferentie van religieuze leiders in de marge van de klimaatconferentie van Durban. Hij presenteerde in Durban meer dan 200.000 handtekeningen, verzameld in het raam van de petitiecampagne ‘We have faith!’.

De Zuid-Afrikaanse bisschop Geoff Davies zei: “Wij geloven erin! Afrika is een continent van de hoop en wij zijn hier met mensen van de verschillende geloofstradities samen om onze morele en geestelijke steun te geven aan een mentaliteitsverandering. Wij willen klimaatrecht-vaardigheid!”.
